BMWCCA.org 2.0 is live. The revamped BMW Car Club of America website adds more content, more forums, and a gallery for photos. Other than the News section created by BMWCCA.org writers and photographs, responsibility for the vibrancy and popularity of the site belongs to BMW CCA’s 75,000 members who contribute material. Here’s a quick guide to the site.

On March 8, 2008, current BMW CCA Secretary Bruce Hazard will be installed as the new President of the BMW Car Club of America. At that time, a vacancy will exist for the position of Secretary. In accordance with BMW CCA Bylaws, the Board of Directors will appoint a voting Club member to serve the remaining year of Bruce Hazard's term as Secretary.

The Oktoberfest 2008 website is up and running for anyone who wants the lowdown on the club’s 39th annual Oktoberfest in Watkins Glen. Registrations will be accept shortly.

To make your vote count, it must be received (not mailed) by midday Friday, Feb. 15.
BMW CCA’s national election is in its final week. To have your vote counted, it must be in the hands of the club’s tabulators – received, not mailed – by midday Friday, Feb. 15, 2008. Four of the club’s nine offices are being elected this year: President, Executive Vice-President, North Atlantic Region VP, and South Central Region VP.

Jim O’Donnell moves from managing director of BMW UK to president of BMW NA.
BMW today named Jim O’Donnell as President of BMW of North America. He also takes on the positon of VP Operations, succeeding Howard Mosher, who retires March 31. O’Donnell currently is Managing Director, BMW (UK) Ltd., and – this is confusing – not the same person as Jim (James L.) McDowell, VP for Mini in the U.S.

CHICAGO -- BMW will be back in North American road racing with a factory effort in 2009, running a team of two E92 M3s in the American Le Mans series. BMW Motorsport, along with ALMS, announced the program and debuted the stunning new car today on the first day of the Chicago Auto Show. Rahal Letterman Racing will run the team.

CHICAGO – Could BMW be back in the racing business in the U.S.? That question should be answered later today at the Chicago Auto Show. One of the draped BMWs on the show floor, awaiting unveiling, has a definite spoiler on the rear deck. The announcement is slated for 3:15 p.m. Central time.
