Help BMW CCA add members and win a trip to the BMW

Sign up a new member, get a membership dues rebate. Sign up a lot of members, win a trip to the BMW Performance Center driving school. Those are the range of rewards - with many more prizes in between - in the 2007 BMW CCA membership contest, which runs through Friday, Sept. 14.The contest is sponsored by BMW CCA with help from BMW Performance Driving School, Bowflex, and Nautilus.

The Basics There's plenty of fine print (we've got it all below) but here's the basics. Tell other BMW owners about BMW CCA. When they join, you'll be credited if the new member mentions you. To make it easy, we've included a membership link you can send via e-mail; when the recipient uses that to sign up online, your member number is automatically passed along. They can also call the club office on a toll-free membership hotline, 800-878-9292, or by sending a membership application (call the BMW CCA office, 864-250-0022, or e-mail Jennifer Skatzes, jennifer@bmwcca.org).

TIPS FROM THE 2006 WINNER. Recruiting doesn't involve much more than mentioning the club to other BMW owners you meet, says the 2006 winner, Jonathan Spira of New York. "If somebody I knew mentioned his new BMW," Jonathan recalls, "I asked him, 'Oh, do you know about the BMW Car Club?' And I'd give him a brochure or send him an e-mail with my member number." Eighty-two people signed up through Spira's links and he wound up with a trip to Spartanburg to attend the BMW Performance Center's two-day car-control clinic.

TOP PRIZES. The first grand prize for individuals again this year is a trip to the two-day car control clinic at the BMW Performance Driving School. Second grand prize. Second grand prize is a $250 BMW CCA store shopping spree. Third prize is a BMW CCA MP4 music player. These are for the first, second, and third most member signups by individuals. Other prizes to be awarded randomly and/or in the dealer/repair shop category include Apple iPods, a Bowflex Revolution, and a Nautilus EV716 Pro. At minimum, you earn a one-month rebate or extension on your own membership. In other words, sign up a dozen members and the next year is free for you. There are also separate contests for BMW Center or independent BMW shop personnel who are BMW CCA members, and for BMW CCA chapters. All run through Friday, Sept. 14.
