BMW CCA’s annual chapter leadership conference this year targets chapter newsletter editors and website editors. It’s Friday-Sunday, April 4-6, in Salt Lake City at the Sheraton City Centre. Registration is now open. See the site’s Chapter Forms sections for an online registration form.

BMW CCA runs a leadership conference every spring, rotating among chapter presidents (Chapter Congress, last year in Valley Forge, Pa.), chapter newsletter editors and webmasters (this year), and driving events (slated for 2009). At this year’s Newsletter Editor / Webmaster Conference, topics will include producing high quality publicaftions and sites, developing stories and themes that resonate with readers and viewers, getting high quality photos (and videos), recruiting and assigning volunteers, and developing websites so simple even a chapter president could (in a pinch) maintain them. BMWCCA.org Editor-in-Chief Bill Howard and Webmaster Jeff Petzel will be on hand to speak about the club’s new national website and pass along some of their experiences. Other speakers will be announced shortly. The conference give the editors and webmasters a chance swaps on what has worked well for them and their readers.

Registration is now open. BMW CCA will pay for travel and hotel costs for two people from each chapter, the newsletter editor and webmaster. Another can attend if the chapter underwrites the additional participant. Paid participants should set up flights at least 21 days in advance and, before booking, verify fares with the club office; the club promises approval will come within four hours, at most. For other questions, contact the club’s National Events Manager, Linda Axelson.

I will be covering for our chapter newsletter editor for this conference. I want to make air arrangements but I don't know the timing of the event. This page says it runs Friday to Sunday, but are there sessions on Friday? And what time does it end on Sunday? Please advise. Thanks, Dohn Roush, dm3roush@earthlink.net
