You might want to put a link on the old forum to the new one. I had it bookmarked directly, and have been wondering why there was no activity there for the past month. Doh!

Thanks, JT.

I'm actually getting ready to bump that link over to this one, so it'll make things go more smoothly all around!

We have owned a 2001 525 wagon for the past year which my wife loves to drive. We are considering buying a used late model 330 convertible to replace my '95 Mercedes E420, which has been a good car for the past 8 years. Does anyone have suggestions on advisable years to consider and is the 330 a better car than the 325 in a convertible model? Thanks....John

When I couldn't make up my mind about ordering a new 330xi or possibly an Infiniti G35x, I asked my adult male, car nut son, which car I should order. His immediate response was "Dad, an old BMW is a classic, an old Infiniti is just old." After having driven my first Bangle styled Bimmer for a few months, and trying to warm to the look, I just realized my son's comment about BMW's is no longer true.

Whoa! I'm so sorry you feel that way. Maybe it's just me but I love anything BMW, wish I could afford the new ones. "To each it's own" I guess. Although some of my own crew doesn't like some Bangle designs.

Do we have a page or section somewhere in the forum where we can upload pics? Kinda' like a show and tell to see other members "pride and joy" or show-off our own? I think that would be very nice. If we don't, would that be considered in the future? You can call it "the shameless plug" or something. Heehee.

I'm sure you've heard of "Flickr". It's a site where people can upload and display their interests. You can also have discussions once you set-up your own group or just browse through. I just started my own and it's called eM Tropolis. (Shameless plug example, heehee). Check it out and maybe join. You can also join other groups, it doesn't matter how many you join I guess. It's pretty cool.

Thanks.

We're working on a new site deisgn that will incorporate a lot more social features, including member photo galleries. We're planning to have the new version ready before the middle of the year, so look for those improvements soon!

Is horsepower a consideration? If so, then a 2006 with 260 Hp, as opposed to an 05' with 230 Hp, would be advisable. Ahh, a 95' Benz, when Mercedes was a Mercedes, what a nice car! The 330 convertible is standard with some important options that are upgrades to a 325;
a. premium sound system (Harmon-Kardon)
b. power seats, driver and passenger
c. wood grain dash
d. BMW assist
e. Xenon Headlights

For John
Are you paying cash, financing or leasing the vehicle? The reason I ask is if you are considering leasing, you should be looking for a late model vehicle with low mileage that the dealer was able to purchase for around $4,000 less than "invoice" on a new one, therefore you can obtain the car for less than a new and still have warranty and maintenance included.
Let me know any other questions you have, I would be happy to help.

If we did, I could send some pictures of our showroom,,,with AC Schnitzer rims on our M6 and M5, also with carbon fiber kit and exhaust, the new B7, and all the cool classic trade-in's we get!

Hello to all of the BMW drivers out there. I own a 2001 525i 5-speed, 1999 528i sport, 1992 525i 5-speed and a 1987 528e. They may be the least powerful 5'ers, but I enjoy driving them. The 528e is my first car (glad to still own it), and the rest have been added on over the years. Does anyone know of any BMW gatherings in the Hudson Valley area of New York? I would like to meet and chat with local BMW owners. We need to be thankful for such great automobiles to keep us busy and out of trouble (unless we are pretending that we are driving on the Autohabn :). We also need to be thankful for such a great club. Happy motoring.

I am looking for new tires form my 97 M3. I want performance and low noise. Is there an article with ratings, or does anyone have a recommendaiton?

If you go to tirerack.com they have articles for each tire that they sell, from general tires to the MXV4 from Michelin.

I would like your opinion on dynamic steering. Does it take away from the funa factor?

Do you mean active steering? It is an acquired taste and the newest versions of active steering aren“t bad but I find that cars with AS lack the right BMW road feel.

Anybody know when the 2008 335's will be "officially" released such that a 2007 then becomes "officially" one year old?

I find it sort of amusing that every time a new model BMW is introduced it is immediately criticized for it's styling. This was true for the e21,the e30, the e36 etc., etc. I've owned BMW's since 1969 (a new 2002 purchased in Frankfurt A.M.) and every BMW since has become a classic as will the Bangle's when the reach the appropriate "classic" age.
