This is to report a bad experience with the BIMRS member independent repair facility in Martinez, GA (near Augusta).

I am usually not a person who would post a negative review of a facility. However, the service and workmanship was so bad at BAVARIAN MECHANIC WORKS that I feel I must warn people before anyone else falls prey to their shoddy workmanship and rude customer service.

First was the counter employee who quoted me $85.00 when I inquired about a service. Failure to add that it was $85.00 an hour and it would be a three hour labor charge was only one of many offenses to come.

Next was the charge of $75 per tire to mount and balance because they are 17 inchers??

Third, they damaged the bead of one tire during installation which caused a slow leak and eventual failure after a few days. No responsibility taken by the shop to correct this error. Instead the owner shifted blame to a faulty tire instead of thier workmanship. If the tire was faulty why did they mount it?

Fourth, their labor rates are only $2 less an hour than the dealer. Where is the benefit in this? The dealer is better equipped but usually more expensive. Not in this case, the dealer would have definitely been a better choice.

They claim they bring TLC to the table but left white grease pencil marks on my wheels and failed to center the steering wheel during an alignment. I found this facility well below BMW standards and the standards set by the BIMRS organization. While trying to correct this problem I found the owner's customer relations even worse than the quality of workmanship in his shop. I failed to get compensation from this business for a tire they damaged and was charged triple the price quoted to me for the original service I inquired about.
